The Hickory Community Theatre Guild has just completed another successful season. As we continue to grow and meet new challenges, the results of our efforts are evident throughout the Theatre.

The mission of the Guild is:

• To enhance all aspects of theatre operations by providing support to the staff and the board where needed
• To supply a forum to encourage volunteerism at the theatre
• To encourage parents of the children actors to form a relationship with the theatre and promote the goals and activities of the theatre in the community
• To develop strategic partnerships with the community.

The Guild is comprised of volunteers from all segments of the community, and all it takes to become a member is $15 annual membership dues. Some members become actively involved with the Guild while others simply wish to support the activities of the Guild through their annual dues. Whatever your intent, the Guild will welcome your membership. With the 2007- 2008 season, the Guild hopes to welcome many new members and continue with the service projects, social gatherings and fund raising events.

Recent accomplishments include:

• Clearing out several prop rooms and removing tons of trash
• Fun fund-raising - raffles and our annual Wine Tasting Party
• Completing and hanging the curtains for all the front windows
• Decorating the Theatre for the holidays
• Hosting the Volunteer Appreciation night and Kay Awards
• Replacing the table bases and table coverings in the Firemen's Kitchen
• Filling a "Donation Box" with the little essentials, like light bulbs and post-it notes, that don't always fit in the Theatre's budget
• Maintaining clipping books
• Assisting theatre staff by racking tickets, stuffing programs, helping with children's programs, ushering, box office and concessions.

The Guild officers for the 2007-2008 Season include: Elizabeth Davolio, Vice-President; Fran Hennig, Secretary; Donna Scudder, Treasurer and Sue Mulay, Guild Representative to the Board.

Meetings will be held the second Monday of the month at 7:00 pm in the Board Room at the theatre. All are welcome.

If you would like the opportunity to join an energetic group of people who like to have fun and help the Hickory Community Theatre at the same time, The Guild @ HCT will welcome you.
