Audition Notice

Hale Centre Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for their upcoming Youth Theatre performance of FREAKY FRIDAY the Musical: Youth Edition. Auditions will be by video submission and will be via the link HERE . Please have your video ready BEFORE you sign up. All video submissions are due by 10pm, Friday, April 26, 2024.

When an uber-organized mother and her spontaneous teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right. Masquerading as each other, they must work together to solve the mystery of how to break the spell. By spending a day in each other’s shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another in a way they never could have imagined. In the end, both learn the true power of love and the strength of the bond between mother and daughter in this heartfelt and hilarious adaptation.

FREAKY FRIDAY the Musical: Youth Edition will be directed and choreographed by David Smith, with music direction by Bailee Morris.

FREAKY FRIDAY the Musical: Youth Edition will perform on our Centre Stage from July 22, 2024 through August 2, 2024.

All roles are open to ages 12-18 and we are looking for actors of all ethnicities.

FOR YOUR VIDEO: Please prepare 16 bars of a contemporary musical theater/pop song in the style of the show. Please slate with your name, age and song title at the beginning of your video. Call backs will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 and will be invitation only and will be in person. Reading, additional singing and dancing will be at the call backs. There is no cost to audition, however, if you are cast, there will be a $500 fee for the Production Class.

Youth Techies

Students will get first-hand experience running tech crew on our youth productions. They will work in tandem with designers and theater professionals, given specific technical roles to be performed throughout the run of the show. Students will be chosen through an application process at the following link HERE . Needed are Youth ages 13-18. There is no cost to apply, however, if you are selected, there will be a $300 fee for the class. We are looking for Techies for FREAKY FRIDAY the Musical: Youth Edition (July 22, 2024 through August 2, 2024; 9am to 2pm). Hours may vary during performances.
