James Bounous
Jack Kelly
  Audiences will recognize James from his recent HCT debut as Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He has been seen at HCTO in both Tarzan and Peter Pan.  He graduates from BYU with a Master’s in Accounting in December, and recently accepted an offer to work for the audit firm Tanner LLC in Salt Lake. “Massive ‘thank you’ to my wife Kayla, who supports me in work, school, and play – and looks damn good doing it! Couldn’t do any of this without you.”

Peter Reid Lambert
  Peter recently made his Hale Centre Theatre debut in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Previous performances include Barnaby Tucker in Hello Dolly! at HCTO, Tommy Djilas in The Music Man at Sundance Summer Theatre, Henry Carr in Travesties at BYU, Eric Liddel in the American premiere of Chariots of Fire at BYU, and in the ensemble of the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre for the 2012 and 2013 summer seasons. He recently earned his BFA in Music Dance Theatre from BYU. “Be your best self. No one can be you, and for that, you have the advantage.”

Gunnar Russell
  Previously seen as Young Diego in Zorro the Musical, Lil Gaspard in A Tale of Two Cities, and Fredrick in A Christmas Carol, Gunnar is no stranger to HCT. Other roles include Gomez in The Addams Family, Tony in West Side Story, and The Minstrel in Once upon a Mattress at Jordan High School. This high school senior was recently a featured soloist in the Jordan River Temple Youth celebration. “Every day is like a new beginning. Every moment is a chance to choose.”

Cameron Dietlein

  This 4th grader is no stranger to the HCT stage, having played Everett in A Bundle of Trouble, Chip in Beauty and the Beast, Young Will in Big Fish, and both Tiny Tim  and Frederick Cratchit in A Christmas Carol. He works hard on piano, basketball, learning Chinese and playing games with his family. “Thanks to all my friends and family for supporting me.”

Thomas Brandley
  Newsies marks Thomas’ 14th production at HCT; some of his favorite previous roles include LeFou in Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, Zacky in Big Fish, and Daniel in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. He also performed at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse, Tuacahn, and UMT where he played Cain in Children of Eden and Chip in On the Town. Thomas graduated from Weber State University of Utah, and works as a Retail Manager. “Anything less than 100% is unacceptable.”

Luke Clayton Hardy
Albert / Bill
  Luke recently performed at Southern Virginia University in the Ensemble of Tuck Everlasting. He also starred as Bert in Mary Poppins and Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone at Olympus High School. He’s currently studying biology at the University of Utah and works at The Store, a grocery store in Holladay. “I’m so thankful for my family and their undying support in all that I do.”

Wesley Valdez
  This BYU Senior made his HCT debut as Man 1/Nubian/Minister/Warrior Dancer/Soldier in Aida.  Wesley has been a member of the BYU International Folk Dance Ensemble and is currently a member of the BYU’s Contemporary Dance Theater. He is studying Dance Performance with a minor in Business Management.  Wesley is a student instructor at BYU, teaching beginning clogging, which he loves.  “To my friends and family, I love you all!”

Roman G. Curiel
  Newsies marks Roman’s debut at HCT. Favorite roles include Antipholus of Syracuse – Comedy of Errors, Mitch Mahoney – The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Bert Bratt – How to Succeed in Business….He is currently majoring in Dance at BYU—supplementing his major with vocal and acting classes. “I am overjoyed to have the privilege of working with Dave Tinney and this talented cast. I could not have wished for a better first premiere in the professional theatre.”

Allan DeWitt
  Allan recently debuted on our stage as Tommy Djilas in The Music Man.  He has previously performed at the Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert, Arizona as Jimmy Smith in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Dexter Franklin in Kiss and Tell, and Frank Pontipee in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. He is currently enrolled at Utah Valley University, and works at Burlington Coat Factory. “Thanks to all my friends and family for coming out and supporting this wonderful show!”

Jordan Dahl
  Jordan was last seen at HCT as Man 6/Aerialist/ Photographer/ Nubian/ Mini-ster/Soldier in Aida and as Gad in Joseph…Dreamcoat. He has also been seen in Peter Pan on the HCTO stage. Jordan has a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from UVU and is currently working as a Medical Assistant at Alpine Pediatrics. “Haley, you are a greater adventure than Santa Fe could ever be.”

Weston Wright
  This Pleasant Grove High School Junior is excited to make his HCT debut in Newsies. At PGHS, Weston played Dickon in The Secret Garden, Jack in Into the Woods, and the Chairman in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Additional credits: Mickey the Nicest Kid in Hairspray at the Scera Shell Outdoor Theater and Kid of Liverpool in The Beatles LOVE Show by Cirque du Soleil at The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.  He received a year of theatrical training at the Las Vegas Academy of the Performing Arts and takes dance classes and voice lessons at the Utah Conservatory of the Performing Arts. “I’m just thankful for this experience and this opportunity.”

Sam Cooper
  Sam starred as Lysander at HCT West Valley in last year’s Youth Production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This Riverton High School Junior is part of the school’s Musical Dance Theatre Program. Favorite roles from past productions: Fox/ Foot-man in Cinderella, Earthworm in James and the Giant Peach Jr., Scar in The Lion King Jr., Genie in Aladdin, Jr., and Horton in Seussical Jr. He also played a supporting lead in the film Shadow of the Mountain. “‘Courage cannot erase our fear; courage is when we face our fears.’ Being in Newsies is a dream!”

Joshua Carr
  Joshua is another local high school student eager to make his debut at HCT. Past roles include Johnny Brown in The Unsinkable Molly Brown and Link Larkin in Hairspray. “Whether the audience is big or small, perform for the little old lady in the back row who needs it.”

Jordan Bromley
  A member of BYU’s Young Ambassadors from 2013 to 2015, Jordan is about to graduate with a BS in Economics. “Being in Newsies fulfills a lifelong dream, and I’d like to thank Hale Centre Theatre for giving meaning to the many times I’ve dresses like a newsboy and danced around with family and friends.”

Noah Bradford
Tommy Boy
  Noah recently played Mike Costa in A Chorus Line at the Salt Lake School for the performing Arts where he was nominated for Best Actor for the 2018 Utah High School Musical Theater Awards. He was also seen in Catch Me if You Can and Guys and Dolls at SLSPA. He appeared as a Fire Staff Spinner in the Roots of the Rocks Music Festival and as a dancer in Alex Boyé’s music video Celebrate. He’s been training at Dance Impressions since he was six and will be studying Musical Theater at the University of Utah after graduation. He’s part of Trader Joe’s crew where they let him dance down the aisles. “You have to waste your time wisely."

Nick Crapo

  HCT audiences have seen Nick on performances of Joseph, The Sound of Music, Zorro, 9 to 5, and Big Fish on our WV Stage. He also played Riff in West Side Story at Center Point Legacy Theatre, Bobby in Cabaret at UVU, and in Catch Me if You Can at HCTO. He is currently in the BFA Musical Theatre program at UVU and works as a dance teacher/choreographer at Black Diamond Dance Academy.

Alan Babcock
Mike / Morris Delancey
  Alan has been seen on the HCT stage in many productions.  A few of those are The Pirate Queen, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Tarzan, Sister Act, Chitty Chitty  Bang Bang, 9 to 5, Zorro, The Wedding Singer and Hello, Dolly!  He also performed at HCTO in Hairspray, All Shook Up and Aida.  Alan was a member of the International Folk Dance Ensemble at BYU and has toured internationally with Clog America.  Alan has his BS in Neuroscience from BYU and currently works as a 4thgrade teacher.  “A very big thanks to my very big family!”

Dave McMullin

  David was most recently on the HCT stage in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Previous HCT appearances include Joseph…Dreamcoat (2017), as well as Sister Act, and The Pirate Queen. He’s also performed in Aida at Center Point Legacy Theatre and Oklahoma! at High Valley Arts Midway. Dave earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University and his BS from BYU; he is a Physical Therapist at Legacy Village Transitional Rehabilitation. “Much love to my family and friends who are always there. Life is precious…make the most of it!”

Riley Groves

  Riley was recently seen as Frank Abagnale Jr. in Catch Me If You Can (Empress). He was last seen on the HCT stage as Will in Robin Hood. Other favorite shows:  The Pirate Queen (HCT), Guys and Dolls, Catch Me If You Can, and Damn Yankees (HCTO).  Riley graduated in December with his Marketing Degree at UVU. He is currently a professional job hunter and is very excited to be using his 5 years of dance training in this production. “Thanks to my wife, Ari. I love you JAM!”

Kelly Hennessey Pulver

  Kelly was last seen on the HCT stage as Amneris in Aida and Annabella/ Margaret/Pamela in The 39 Steps. She also played those same roles in The 39 Steps at HCTO. Other favorites: Lady Macbeth Macbeth, Utah Shakespearean Festival Tour; Dinah Starlight Express, World Wide Theatricals; and Ariel Footloose, Theatre Works International. Kelly has also worked as a sketch vocalist for Stiletto Entertainment and Norwegian Cruise Lines, developing new shows for the ships. Kelly holds a BFA in Acting from BYU and has studied improvisation in Los Angeles at the Upright Citizens Brigade. She has worked in LA as a professional actress in film, television, commercials, and animation voiceover. She can be seen in commercials for Sharpie, Mastercard, Curacao, as well as movies on Netflix. Kelly currently teaches acting/vocal performance at the Conservatory of Performing Arts Draper campus, and offers private acting/coaching lessons. “Sending love to my husband Clint, who is the best husband, friend, and support I could have ever asked for.”

Ric Starnes

Ric was just seen in HCT’s Regional Premiere of Tuck Everlasting as Constable Joe. He has appeared as Heck Tate in To Kill a Mockingbird, Maurice in Beauty and The Beast, Abe Goldman in Beau Jest, and Mr. Fezziwig in A Christmas Carol on our West Valley stage. HTCO credits include Joseph…Dreamcoat and Big Fish. He was most recently seen as Seitz/Jacobi in Newsies at PTC. “I am thrilled to be making Newsies my first show on the Center Stage—working with this amazing cast and production team. As always, my biggest thank you goes to my wife who continues to support my acting habit! Love you Lee-Lee! Seize the Day…Every Day!!”

Kandyce Marie

Kandyce was recently seen as Aida in HCT’s grand opening center stage production of Aida. She has appeared in several shows throughout Utah, as well as traveled the world performing in both the international tour of Aida and as a Production Cast Principal Singer for Norwegian Cruise Lines. Kandyce was part of the original cast of Paradis that was choreographed and directed by Broadway’s Motown choreographer, Patti Wilcox. Some of her favorite credits include: Aida (Aida), Sarah (Ragtime), Dionne (Hair), Yellow Girl (Shout! The Mod Musical), Bessie Toler (Civil War), Erzulie (Once on This Island), and Chiffon (Little Shop of Horrors). Kandyce graduated from WSU in Child and Family Studies and has two little ones who are her entire world. “Do the best you can until you know better. Clin Eaton
  When Clin was 15 years old, he wrote a letter to the editor about his passionate feelings for the Newsies film and how he and his family were the only people in the theatre watching it. Did that letter get published in the paper? Yes, it did. Is it mortifying to read now? Yes, it is. But he has it in a scrapbook. Does he feel that his letter is partially responsible for Disney turning Newsies into a stage show? Yes, he does. You’re welcome. Clin has both his BA and MA degrees from BYU and has been an award-winning Drama Teacher at Riverton High School for 18 years. “To Ellis and Millie-part of Clin’s orphanage at home and to Jackie-his nun.”

Jeff Thompson

Jeff is glad to be back at HCT, having performed previously in Ragtime and She Loves Me at HCTWV. He has appeared in Into the Woods and Betty Blue Eyes at  HCTO and The Boys Next Door and Don’t Take it With You for the Pleasant Grove Players. He has a PhD in Organizational Behavior from The University of Minnesota and is a Professor at BYU where he teaches in the Masters of Public Administration Program. “Love to Aimee and our spectacular kids!”

Adam Millington
Man 2 / Seitz / Police
  Adam has been seen on the HCT stage in Sister Act, The Pirate Queen, Big Fish, Les Miserables and most recently as Jacey Squires in The Music Man. He’s also been seen in The Music Man at the Playmill, and A Tale of Two Cities at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre. Adam has a BA in Art History and a BS in Physics, and currently works in DNA research at the University of Utah.

Drew Martin

Drew is so excited to be making his HCT debut in Newsies. The last time he was on a Utah stage was 26 years ago in My Fair Lady at Pioneer Theatre with Jim Jansen and Robert Peterson. Off-Broadway: Ragtime on Ellis Island (Stanford White) with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Laura Michelle Kelly, Jekyll and Hyde (General Glossip). National Tours: Elf-the Musical (Mr. Greenway), Anything Goes (The Captain). Additional Theatre: Fiddler on the Roof (Rabbi and The Constable), It’s a Wonderful Life (Mr. Martini), Annie (Bert Healy) , Phantom (Phillippe), Forever Plaid (Sparky), South Pacific (Emile), The Secret Garden (Archibald).  He has a BA in Theatre from the University of Northern Colorado and completed one year toward an MFA in Acting at Cal State Fullerton.   Bradley was last seen on our stage as Uncle George  in Cash on Delivery. He lists some of his other favorite roles as Leroux in our 2015 production of Is He Dead?, Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol (HCTO), and William Shakespeare in The Drown’ed Book (Zion Theatre Productions). Bradley has a BA in Theatre Education and MA in Film and Media from BYU and works as a Film and Theatre teacher at Maple Mountain High School. “Love to Shawnda, Ton, Ike, and Bel.”

  Emily is excited to return to the Centre Stage, having previously performed in The Hunchback of Notre Dame and last season’s Joseph…Dreamcoat. Other favorite roles include Ariel in Footloose, and Kathy in Singin’in the Rain. She recently graduated from BYU with a degree in Construction Management and works in Commercial Estimating.

Amanda Van Orden

  Amanda made her HCT debut in last season’s Joseph…Dreamcoat. Among her previous roles, she lists as some of her favorites:  Milly Pontipee Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Playmill Theater), Mrs. Brill Mary Poppins (BYU), Hodel Fiddler on the Roof (Playmill Theater) and Woman 2 Songs for a New World (Center Stage Theater).  Amanda is a recent graduate from BYU’s Music Dance Theater program.
